HOOP SQUAD takes on the E.L.B.O (Bx3 #38)

Previous Comic (Pick up Baron Davis' tab) - Next Comic (Meth Dealing Zombies (really!))
Like Chub I'm not too big on superhero comics my self, but I'd definitely give this one a read. Best thing is that you know superheros almost always win in the end- if only we could say the same for lockout! Big thanks go to my pal Felix who helped me out coming up with the best potential NBA superheros. It's always nice to have someone to bounce (x3 -sorry) your ideas of off.

Check him out on twitter if you are a twitterer: @Almost_witty

I drew the Hoop-Squad comic cover separately before dropping it into the comic above.  Here it is straight-on (click on the thumbnail to see it bigger):

Anyone care to try to identify the Hoop Squad members and their leader's secret identities down in the comments?

  1. Ok trying to try and figure out Heros and repective players
    Glenn Davis is Big Baby
Kobe Bryant is the Black Mamba
    Andrei Kirilinko is AK-47
    John Sally is the Spider

  3. Thanks Ryan! I appreciate it.

I forgot that John Sally was called the spider...
These are all current players though- so it's not him

Another hint, the guy on the lower right with the mop? Um.. he's on the Mavericks, comes in when they need a "professional foul"... Does the dirty work... (not the most famous player but one of the best nicknames in the game IMO)

I also gave Phil Jackson up there in the corner an a X-men'esque nickname... Seeing as how I made it up I doubt anyone would get that one.

  8. Yep. I prefer "The Custodian" but I'll count it.
Last one, and the hardest, because it's not an actual nickname.
Think leader of the X-men + Phil Jackson's offense.
